Rev Fest

Sunday 2 May 2010

Make sure you’re there to catch all the sound and excitement as these machines burn rubber at the Barcaldine Aerodrome.

What’s new for Revfest 10?

  • Drag Racing Nominations limited to 75 – based on feedback from last year we are limiting this years drag racing nominations to 75.  Although we would love to see more competitors the committee feels it’s just too much for us to handle.  We want people to have fun and plenty of runs and as we only hold the event once a year if we were to get any more competitors we simply don’t think everyone would enjoy it as much.  Nomination forms will not be accepted until fees are paid so please send/eft your entry fees as soon as you can - it will be first in best dressed.  Payment details are on the entry form just print out and email/fax back.
  • Nominations close Monday 26th April - again so we can try and run a better day we are asking everyone to pre-nominate this year so we know who is coming and can plan accordingly

  • Competitor fees now $55 - due to rising costs to hold the event we have reluctantly increased the costs per driver to $55 each to compete
  • The track is looking fantastic - the launch pad having seen a few more cars now has more bite plus the rest of the track has had its second seal and looks great.
  • More room and shade - this year we are looking to expand the pits and incorporate a trailer park.  We will also put a tent down the deep end and aim for as much shade as possible on the site.
  • Saturday afternoon main street show and shine – based on feedback we have moved the show and shine into the main street on Saturday afternoon away from the dirt and dust and will be incorporated into Saturday night’s main street cruise.  We are keen to see as many as possible get their cars and bikes out for this great street run.
  • Accommodation - attached is the list of accommodation in town as usual it will be tight so please get in early if you can.
  • Barcy Revfest Accomm guide 2010

Revfest 10 will again see people from across Queensland converge on Barcaldine to compete in and experience Saturday night’s show and shine and main street cruise, Sunday’s Eighth mile drag racing and Monday’s May Day Street Parade. It will build on last years event which saw over 70 competitors and 1000 spectators converge on Barcy. Trade stalls, displays and sponsors, please contact the committee if you would like to be part of this year’s event.   We’d love to see you here in May! Our Revfest 10 flyer will be out in a few weeks.
